Activities of Special Semester on Commutative Algebra at VIASM

The Special Semester on Commutative Algebra has taken place at VIASM from 1 December 2013 until 28 February 2014. The program gathered 17 professors and research fellows from 6 cities across the country (Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City) to come to work at VIASM. In addition, there have been many other foreign professors (from USA, France, Switzerland, Japan, Italy, Spain) coming to give lectures as well as collaborating in research with Vietnamese research fellows.

The EASIAM (East Asia section of SIAM) Student Paper Prizes

The EASIAM (East Asia section of Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics) Student Paper Prizes are awarded every year to the student author(s) of the most outstanding paper(s) submitted to the EASIAM Student Paper Prize competition. The contestant must be a current Ph.D. student or a recent Ph.D graduate (within one year of her/his thesis defense on the application deadline) in universities of East or Southeast Asia. Deadline of the submission: February 28, 2014.

Moduli 2014 Workshop has opened

In the morning of 7 January 2014, Prof. Joe Harris (Harvard University) has given the first lecture of Workshop on birational geometry and stability of moduli stacks and spaces of curves This is the first scientific activity at the Institute in the year 2014, with the attending of well-known international and national mathematicians.
