The first training school for highschool math teachers in 2014 has opened

The first training school for highschool math teachers in 2014 is taking place at VIASM, September 22, 2014. This is an activity of the National Program for the Development of Mathematics from 2010 to 2020 (NPDM).

Attendants of the opening ceremony of the school include Prof. Tran Van Nhung – Secretary of the State Council for Professor and Deputy Chief Executive of NPDM, Prof. Nguyen Huu Du – Managing Director of VIASM and also a member of NPDM Executive Board.

There are 39 teachers from highschools for gifted students in the northern half of Vietnam (from Ha Giang to Quang Tri) in this training. The training school aims to provide highschool teachers more materials and techniques using for enhancing knowledge of gifted students and training students for national and international math contests. The main content of this training is contained in the lectures about arithmetics and combinatorics as well as in the discussions about teaching methods for gifted students. Moreover, there are more than ten lectures given by the highschool teachers themselves.

The participants are trained in two sessions everyday, starting at 8h30 Monday September 22, 2014 and ending at 17h00 Saturday September 27, 2014. We expect the second training for highschool teachers in the southern half of Vietnam from October 13 to October 18, 2014 in Vung Tau.
