Mini-course “Post Quantum Cryptography”

Invited Lecturer: Prof. Johannes Buchmann (Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany)

Short biography: Johannes Buchmann received a PhD from the Universität zu Köln, Germany in 1982. 1985 and 1986 he was a PostDoc at the Ohio State University on a Fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. From  1988 to 1996 he was a professor of Computer Science at the Universität des Saarlandes in Saarbrücken. From 1996 until his retirement in 2019 he was a professor of Computer Science and Mathematics at Technische Universität Darmstadt. From 2001 to 2007 he was Vice President Research of TU Darmstadt. In 1993 he received the Leibniz-Prize of the German Science Foundation and in 2012 the Tsugming Tu Award of Taiwan. He is a member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering acatech and of the German Academy of Science Leopoldina. His research interests are cryptography, privacy, and societal aspects of digitalization.

Tentative schedule:

The lectures will start from 9h00-10h30 in the morning and 14h00-15h30 in the afternoon.

The tentative schedule is as follows:

- Quantum computing and quantum cryptanalysis

- Hash-based signatures

- Lattice-based cryptography I

- Lattice-based cryptography II

- Multivariate cryptography (if time allows)

- Code-based cryptography (if time allows)
