The autumn school IACR-SEAMS School “Cryptography: Foundations and New Directions” is the first joint school between The International Association of Cryptology Research IACR and The South East Asia Mathematical Society (SEAMS) organized by Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) and University of Science – Vietnam National University Hanoi (VNU-HUS).
The Mini-course “Uncertainty Quantification and Approximation Theory for Parameterized PDEs”, lectured by Prof. Clayton G. Webster, Dr. Hoang Tran, and Dr. Guannan Zhang (Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA), started at VIASM on November 14, 2016. This Mini-course will last until November 17, 2016.
The winter school started at VIASM on 31/10/2016. The two main speakers are Prof. Chiara Zanini, Department of Mathematical Sciences “G. L. Lagrange”, Politecnico di Torino and Dr. Marita Thomas, Weierstrass Institute, Berlin (Germany). The school is organized until 04/11/2016.
The first lecture of VIASM Lecture Series in Applied Mathematics (LSAM) - "Interfaces and hysteresis in solid phase transformations" - given by Prof. Sir John Ball (Oxford University, UK) has started at VIASM on August 23, 2016. The Lecture Series aims at training and promoting the applications of mathematics in other sciences as well as in various issues in society.
The mini-workshop “Harmonic Analysis and Several Complex Variables” took place at VIASM on June 13, 2016. It was organized by VIASM, Pham Hoang Hiep (Institute of Mathematics - VAST) and Tran Vu Khanh (University of Wollongong, Australia) who was working at the institute.
