VIASM Summer school “Research Experience for Undergraduates”

Venue/Location: Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM), Hanoi

Time & Venue :

  • Phase 1: June 24-29, 2024 at the Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM)

  • Phase 2: July 01-August 23, 2024, working online

  • Phase 3: August 26-30, 2024 at Mien Trung University of Civil Engineering, Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen Province (tentative).

1. Objective :

  • The summer school aims to give students early access to the mathematical research process, from problem identification to developing solutions and presenting results. This will encourage the development of extensive math skills and improve self-learning, teamwork, and creative thinking.
  • The program will make it most convenient for students to work directly with experienced researchers, working on challenging and meaningful problems.

2. Expected participants :

  • Undergraduate students in Vietnam in mathematical sciences.

  • Requirements for students: It is necessary to focus on working during the entire summer school period (10 weeks), making efforts to closely follow the instructions of the lecturer to achieve the best results.
