Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) invites research groups and individuals to apply for short-term research stays for the year 2021 (from 2  up to 12 months). Candidates are groups or individuals who are teaching, doing research as well as applying mathematics in various areas of technology, economics and society. The proposals will be evaluated by the VIASM Scientific Council.

Priority will be given to research groups but outstanding individual researchers are also encouraged to apply.

The VIASM Scientific Council will appoint candidates in the following categories: Distinguished Professor, Research Professor, Senior Researcher, Researcher and young researcher.

n addition, VIASM invites applications for post-doctoral fellowships 2021 (in all areas of mathematics, statistics and data science). Post-doctoral fellows will receive the same support as researchers, but for at most an one-year stay. Only applicants who complete their Ph.D after  January 1st, 2015 will be considered.   

Research fellows will receive a research honorarium during their stays.  Accommodation in Hanoi could be arranged by the Institute. Research fellows are expected to stay for at least two months. Travel support from home institution will also be available upon request. 

In addition, research groups may be given financial support for organizing scientific activities and for inviting mathematicians (especially from overseas) for a joint research project or giving lectures. 

How to apply:  Applications are submitted online only at rms.viasm.edu.vn . Only the Principle Investigator of the research proposal can submit the research proposal and invite other members to join the research group. After receiving an invitation email, members of the group will be allowed to access the system,submit their scientific CV and other related information.
