School on Operations Research and Applications

1. Objective

Operations research is a research field with numerous important applications in various aspects of life, such as business, manufacturing, services, logistics, transportation, finance, and healthcare, and is one of the five important development orientations of applied mathematics in the Vietnam National Program for the Development of Mathematics for the period 2021-2030.
The School “Operations Research and Applications” aims to provide students with knowledge of fundamental concepts in operations research and their real-world applications. In addition to lectures delivered by experts, participants will engage in practical sessions to implement algorithms and apply the acquired knowledge on computers.

2. Expected participants

The participants are scientists, postgraduate students, and third or fourth-year bachelor students majoring in mathematics and related fields, with good English skills, a solid mathematical background, basic programming skills, and a desire to explore real-world applications of mathematics. Participants are required to bring their personal computers.
