A new method for designing interval observers for linear functions of state vectors of a class of uncertain time-delay systems

In this report, I consider the estimation problem for a class of uncertain time-delay systems, in which the time delays are present in the state, the uncertainties are involved in the state and the output. A new design method of linear functional interval observers is provided. The observer estimates the set of admissible values for linear functions of the state vector at each instant of time. The case of known fixed delays and uncertain time-varying delays are investigated. Conditions for the existence of the linear functional interval observers are given and an effective algorithm for computing unknown observer matrices is provided. Illustrative examples of the observer application are given with simulation results.
