3. Prof. John R. Birge, The University of Chicago Booth School of Business
John R. Birge is the Hobart W. Williams Distinguished Service Professor of Operations Management at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He studies mathematical modeling of systems under uncertainty, especially for maximizing operational and financial goals using the methodologies of stochastic programming and large-scale optimization. He has applied his work in a variety of contexts and industries including energy, finance, health care, manufacturing, and transportation. He has published widely and is the recipient of the Best Paper Award from the Japan Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences Fellows Award, the Institute of Industrial Engineers Medallion Award and was elected to the National Academy of Engineering.
A former dean of the Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Northwestern University, he has worked as a consultant for a variety of firms including the University of Michigan Hospitals, Deutsche Bank, Allstate Insurance Company, and Morgan Stanley.
Birge earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Princeton University in 1977 and a master's degree and a PhD in operations research from Stanford University in 1979 and 1980, respectively.

4. Prof. Oscar Garcia-Prada, Institute of Mathematical Sciences (Madrid)
Oscar García-Prada is a CSIC Research Professor at Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas in Madrid. He obtained a D.Phil. in Mathematics at the University of Oxford in 1991, under the supervision of Nigel Hitchin and Simon Donaldson, and had postdoctoral appointments at Institut des Hautes Études Scientific (Paris), University of California at Berkeley, and Université de Paris-Sud, before holding positions at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and École Polytéchnique (Paris). In 2002 he joined the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). His research interests lie in the interplay of differential and algebraic geometry with differential equations of theoretical physics, more concretely, in the study of moduli spaces and geometric structures. The moduli spaces considered involve objects such as vortices, solutions to general gauge-theoretic equations, Higgs bundles and representations of surface groups and fundamental groups of higher dimensional Kaehler manifolds. He participates regularly in public outreach activities on mathematics and its interactions with physics and music, collaborating with main Spanish newspapers, radio and television. In parallel with his mathematical work, he carries out a musical activity, singing as a countertenor specialised in the early music repertoire, offering recitals in several countries in Europe.

5. Prof. Phan Van Tuoc, University of Tennessee – Knoxville
Tuoc Phan obtained his Bachelor of Science degree majoring in mathematics from the University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City (VN) in 2000. He started his graduate study at the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA) in 2002 and obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2007. Dr. Phan was a postdoc at the University of British Columbia (British Columbia, Canada) from 2007- 2010, and University of Tennessee from 2010 - 2012. Dr. Phan joined the Department of Mathematics at the University of Tennessee as an assistant professor in 2012 and became an associate professor at this institution in 2018. Dr. Phan's research interests lie in the analysis theory for partial differential equations. His study establishes the existence, uniqueness, and regularity estimates of solutions. He also works on nonlinear dynamics of solutions, and optimal control problems in mathematical biology.
