The goal of this series of lectures is to give an introduction to Teichmuller theory from the point of view of deformation of Fuchsian groups with tools essentially coming from complex analysis. We will also be interested in the notion of Teichmuller curves, that is hyperbolic surfaces admitting locally isometric immersion into the moduli space, and some related problems.

Expected participants: master students, PhD students, senior researchers...
Requirements: basic notions about Riemann surfaces, hyperbolic geometry (2 dimensional), complex analysis, surface topology.

- 2001- 2005: Ecole Polytechnique, Paris, France (engineer and Master diplomas)
- 2005-2009: University Paris 11, Orsay, France (PhD degree in Pures Mathematics)
- 2009-2010: postdoc. at Max Planck Institute, Bonn, Germany
- 2010- now: Lecturer/Assistant Professor at University of Bordeaux, France
