Abstract: We construct a Groebner basis for the defining ideal of the Segre product A*B  of two graded algebras A and B from arbitrary Groebner bases of the defining ideals of A and B. As a consequence, if A and B have quadratic Groebner bases, then A*B also has a quadratic Groebner basis.
