Title: Introduction to Bayesian structural equation modeling
Abstract: Structural equation models (SEMs) are commonly used to study the structural relationship between observed variables and latent constructs. Recently, Bayesian SEMs have gained more attention due to their potential for better small-sample performance and the adoption of more flexible model structures. This talk aims to provide an introduction to Bayesian structural equation modeling. I will first give an overview of Bayesian statistical inference, including model specification, model evaluation, and model comparison. I will then discuss the general form of Bayesian SEMs and their estimation using Markov chain Monte Carlo and variational Bayes algorithms. Lastly, I will demonstrate the applicability of Bayesian SEMs through several examples.
