Tóm tắt: Berkovich developed the theory of non-Archimedean analytic spaces (recently called Berkovich spaces) in the 1990s. Berkovich added many more "generic" points so that his spaces are honest topological spaces, which is considered a great contribution of this theory to rigid non-Archimedean geometry. Beyond generalizing classical rigid geometry, Berkovich's theory also works in trivially valued and even Archimedean fields. Furthermore, geometric objects in Archimedean and non-Archimedean contexts can be defined and studied. The talk will introduce Berkovich's construction and mention some applications.
