Public Lecture: Fields Medals Snapshots

 Objective: This special event is to highlight and celebrate the mathematical contributions of Yu Deng, John Pardon, Jacob Tsimerman, and Hong Wang, the four recipients of the Fields Medals at the ICM 2026 in Philadelphia. The Public Lecture will provide an overview of their respective works, ranging from the rigorous derivation of the Boltzmann equation and wave kinetic theory, the groundbreaking achievements in symplectic geometry, the proof of Griffiths’ conjecture and Andre-Oort conjecture in arithmetic algebraic geometry, to the major advances in harmonic analysis and geometric measure theory. The Lecture is intended for a general audience, elucidating the main ideas and mathematical approaches that lead to their remarkable achievements. 

Expected participants: Researchers, Scientists, Students and members of the general public interested in mathematics.
