The Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) invites research groups and individuals to apply for short-term research stays in 2023 (from 2 up to 12 months).

Candidates are groups or individuals in any branch of mathematics and the mathematical sciences.

Priority will be given to collaborative research groups, consisting of international and  Vietnamese researchers with overlapping research interests, who wish to work together on some aspects of their research programs, but applications from outstanding individual researchers will also be considered.

Research fellows will receive a research honorarium during their stays.  Accommodation in Hanoi could also be arranged. Research fellows are expected to stay for at least two months. Travel support from home institutions will be available upon request.

Additional support will be considered for scientific activities organized by the collaborative research groups. Research groups can also apply for bringing international researchers to VIASM for collaborative research visits. 

The VIASM Scientific Council will appoint candidates in the following categories: Distinguished Professor, Research Professor, Senior Researcher, Researcher and young researcher.

Postdoctoral position: The VIASM will award up to 5 one-year postdoctoral fellowships  (with a possible renewal of another year). These positions are intended for early career researchers up to 5 years post-Ph.D (after  January 01, 2017).

• For research groups, the Principal Investigator sets up an account, creates a new proposal and invites other researchers to join his/her collaborative research group. After receiving an invitation email, members of the group will then be given access to the system and proceed to submit the required information.
• Postdoctoral candidates should arrange for at least two letters of recommendation to be sent directly to the address: application@viasm.edu.vn.
