The Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) invites research groups and individuals to apply for short-term research visits in 2024 (from 2 up to 12 months).

Candidates are groups or individuals in any branch of mathematical, computational and statistical sciences.

Priority will be given to mixed research groups, consisting of international and Vietnamese researchers, but applications from outstanding individual researchers will also be considered. Women candidates are encouraged to apply.

Research fellows will receive a research honorarium during their stays.  Accommodation in Hanoi will also be arranged for visitors from outside of Hanoi. Research fellows are expected to stay for at least two months. Travel support from home institutions will be available upon request.

Additional support will be considered for scientific activities organized by the collaborative research groups. Research groups may also propose to invite other  international scientists to VIASM for research collaboration. 

The VIASM Scientific Council will appoint candidates in the following categories: Distinguished Professor, Research Professor, Senior Researcher, Researcher and young researcher.

Postdoctoral position: The VIASM will award up to 5 one-year postdoctoral fellowships  (with a possible renewal of another year). These positions are intended for early career researchers up to 5 years post-Ph.D (after January 01, 2018).

• For research groups, the Principal Investigator sets up an account, creates a new proposal and invites other researchers to join his/her collaborative research group. After receiving an invitation email, members of the group will then be given access to the system and proceed to submit the required information.
• Researchers who already have an account on the VIASM RMS system should update their curriculum vitae and other  information (permanent institution, publications, etc.).
• Postdoctoral candidates should arrange for at least two letters of recommendation (in English) to be sent directly to the email address: application@viasm.edu.vn, (with subject line LOR-Name of Candidate) before the application deadline.

Results will be announced by March 31, 2023.
