VIASM Annual Meeting 2013 has opened

VIASM Annual Meeting 2013 has been taking place at VIASM Lecture Hall C2. VIASM Annual Meeting is a regular activity of the Institute to be organized once a year following the example of Bourbaki seminar.

This year, the Annual Meeting has 50 participants, among them are 12 foreigners or Vietnamese currently working abroad. VIASM has invited highly reputed mathematicians to deliver lectures on central topics of contemporary mathematics.


The first lecture of this Annual Meeting is given by Prof. Duong Hong Phong titled “Non-linear heat flows in complex geometry”. In the next sessions, participants will listen to the lectures of Prof. Vansudevan Srinivas about “The Tate Conjecture for K3 surfaces”, Prof. Takeshi Saito about “The weight-monodromy conjecture and perfectoid spaces”, Prof. Gan Wee Teck about “Recent progress on the Gross-Prasad Conjecture”, and Prof. John Coates about “Congruent Numbers”. After the Annual Meeting, the lectures will be collected and refereed in view of publication in a special issue of Acta Mathematica Vietnamica.
