1) Prof. Intan Muchtadi

Intan Muchtadi received an M.Sc and PhD in Mathematics from the Universite de Picardie, France. She is a full professor in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Institut Teknologi Bandung. She is currently the president of the South East Asian Mathematical Society and a member of the International Center of Pure and Applied Mathematics (CIMPA). Her research topics are Representation Theory, Ring Theory, and Applications of Algebra in Coding Theory and Cryptography.


2) Prof. Jose Ernie C. Lope

Jose Ernie Lope has been doing research on partial differential equations in the complex domain for more than two decades, but has also worked on problems in applied and computational mathematics. He has served the Philippine mathematics community in various capacities, such as Editor of the journal Matimyás Matematika, Team Leader of the Philippine delegation to the International Mathematical Olympiad, and president of the Mathematical Society of the Philippines. He was recognized by the National Academy of Science and Technology of the Philippines in 2006 and 2012 for excellence in research, and by the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman in 2015 for excellence in teaching. In 2021, he was conferred the Achievement Award in Mathematical Sciences by the National Research Council of the Philippines. He currently heads the Institute of Mathematics of UP Diliman.

3) Prof. Dr. Maslina Darus

Prof. Dr. Maslina Darus (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Selangor, Malaysia) - Maslina Darus obtained her first degree in Mathematics from Acadia University, Nova Scotia in 1992. She received her PhD from the University of Wales, Swansea, U. K. in 1996. She became a lecturer at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2001. She was promoted to Full Professor in September 2006. She was appointed as Head of Mathematics programme from 2004-2009. Then from 2010 until 2013, she was the Chair of the School of Mathematical Sciences and later the Deputy Dean, Undergraduate & Alumni of Faculty of Science and Technology (2013-2018). She is active in the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society (PERSAMA) and was the Honorary Secretary for about 17 years (1997-2013). She is the President of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society (PERSAMA), 2013-2025. She was the President of the Southeast Asian Mathematical Society (SEAMS), 2021-2022. Her interest in geometric function theory mainly focuses on the properties of certain subclasses of univalent functions. She has graduated more than 30 PhD students. The results from her research have indeed been published in more than 700 articles in various refereed/indexed journals. She has collaborated with many mathematicians worldwide.

4) Prof. Jose Maria L. Escaner IV

Dr. Jose Maria (Joma) L. Escaner IV is a Professor at the Institute of Mathematics, University of the Philippines (U.P.) Diliman, where he has been teaching for 34 years. He currently serves as the Academic Head of the Mathematical Finance and Actuarial Science Group at U.P. I-Math.

Dr. Escaner holds a B.S. in Mathematics (1990), an M.S. in Applied Mathematics with major in Actuarial Science (1993), and a Ph.D. in Mathematics (2001), all from U.P. Diliman. He completed his doctoral research at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, and pursued studies in Mathematical Finance at the Università di Padova in Italy.

He has mentored undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students and has publications in SCOPUS-indexed and peer-reviewed journals, covering topics such as parabolic differential equations, mathematical finance, actuarial science, and mathematical biology.

Dr. Escaner is currently the president of the Mathematical Society of the Philippines (MSP). He is also a member of the board of the U.P. Diliman Mathematics Foundation, Inc., and a regular member of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP).

5) Assoc Prof. Dr. Mohd Aftar Abu Bakar

Mohd Aftar Abu Bakar is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Originally from Malaysia, he holds a BSc in Industrial Mathematics and an MSc in Mathematics from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and a PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science from The University of Adelaide, Australia. Since joining UKM in 2008 as a lecturer, he has been dedicated to teaching and research, specializing in time series analysis, machine learning, and data analytics. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2016 and Associate Professor in 2023. He currently serves as the program coordinator for the MSc in Data Science and Analytics program and is the Chief Editor of the Journal of Quality Measurement and Analysis. In addition, he is a member of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society (PERSAMA) and a council member of the Malaysia Institute of Statistics (ISMy).

6) Prof. Mitsuru Kawazoe (online)

Mitsuru Kawazoe is a professor at the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Sciences and Global Education of Osaka Metropolitan University (OMU), and serving as manager of mathematics in general education at OMU. He received B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. (Science) degrees from the Department of Mathematics, Kyoto University, Japan, in 1991, 1993, and 1996, respectively. His research interests include algebraic geometry, cryptography, and mathematics education. He is a chairperson of the Education Committee of MSJ (The Mathematical Society of Japan) and a member of Scientific Committee of INDRUM (International Network for Didactic Research in University Mathematics). He is an associate member of Science Council of Japan and a member of its Sub-Committee on Mathematics Education. He was a member of the organizing team of the Topic Study Group on university mathematics education at the last two ICME (International Congress on Mathematical Education; ICME-14(2021) and ICME-15(2024))

7) Prof. Laurent El Ghaoui

Prior to his current appointment at VinUniversity, Prof. El Ghaoui taught at the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and Department of Industrial Engineering & Operations Research at University of California, Berkeley (ranked #32 worldwide according to the QS World University Rankings 2021). He also taught Data Science within the Master of Financial Engineering at UC Berkeley’s Haas Business School. Besides being a researcher and a lecturer, Prof. El Ghaoui is also a consultant and an entrepreneur. According to him, these experiences solving real-world problems have supplemented his research life tremendously.

8) Dr. Tran Vinh Linh

Dr. Tran Vinh Linh is a Vietnamese mathematician with a passion for Liberal Arts education. He is interested in Applied mathematics with a focus on Applied Probability. He has done research in Random matrix and random graph theory which resulted in publications with high citation. He supervised undergraduate students in various projects with topics in Applied Graph theory, Financial Mathematics, and Stochastic simulation.
Dr. Linh’s teaching goal is to make Math friendly and accessible to everyone. His courses are designed with active learning activities where students can have hands-on experience with mathematical modeling and understand the true ideas behind complicated formulas. He is looking for motivated and creative students who are willing to try new things and take on challenging research topics.
