Plenary Speakers

1. Dr. Do Viet Cuong

Dr. Do Viet Cuong received a bachelor’s degree in theoretical mathematics in 2005 and a master’s degree in theoretical mathematics in 2007 at the University of Paris 11, France. In 2012, he received his PhD in Mathematics at the University of Lorraine, France. He is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Mathematics, Mechanics and Informatics, University of Science and Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. His research interests are automorphic forms.

2. Dr. Nguyen Hai Dang

Hai-Dang Nguyen received his bachelor’s degree  in Mathematics from Hanoi University of Science in 2008. He then spent 5 years as a lecturer at the university before coming to Wayne State University, where he received a PhD degree in 2018. Starting August 2018, he is an assistant professor at University of Alabama. His research interests include Applied Probability, Stochastic Processes, Optimal Control, Dynamical Systems, Mathematical Biology, Stochastic Optimization.

He was awarded the SIAM the 2019 SIAM Activity Group on Control and Systems Theory Prize in 2019. The SIAM Activity Group on Control and Systems Theory (SIAG/CST) Prize is awarded every two years to an early career researcher for outstanding research contributions, as determined by the prize committee, to mathematical control or systems theory.

3. Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Tien Dung

Associate Professor Nguyen Tien Dung was born in 1983. He graduated from Hanoi National University of Education in 2005 and defended his Ph.D thesis at VNU Hanoi University of Science in 2012. After ten years teaching at FPT University, he started working at VNU Hanoi University of Science in 2018. His research interests are Malliavin stochastic analysis and Limit theorems.

4. Dr. Dau Son Hoang

Dau Son Hoang received the B.S. degree in applied mathematics and informatics from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vietnam in 2006, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mathematical sciences from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2009 and 2012, respectively.

He is currently a lecturer in Computer Science at School of Computing Technology, STEM College, RMIT University. His research interests include coding theory, discrete mathematics, and their applications in blockchain. Hoang is also leading an ARC DECRA project on "Advanced coding techniques for fast failure recovery in storage systems", and is a Chief Investigator in another ARC Discovery Project on "Advanced error control coding techniques for scalable blockchains".

5. Dr. Nguyen Duc Manh

Dr. Nguyen Duc Manh completed his undergraduate study at Ecole Polytechnique, Paris in 2005. He obtained his PhD from University Paris 11 (Orsay) in 2008. After spending one year as postdoc at Max Planck Institute in Bonn (Germany), he joined the Mathematics Department of University of Bordeaux (France) in 2010, where he serves as Assistant Professor until now. He obtained his habilitation from University of Bordeaux in 2016.
