1. Dương Giao Kỵ (An Giang University, VN)

Duong Giao Ky graduated in Mathematics Teacher Education from An Giang University - Vietnam National University HCMC from 2009 to 2013. He obtained his Master's degree in 2016 at Sorbonne Paris Nord University (supervisor Pr. Hatem Zaag) through the Master of Mathematics program in collaboration with international universities at the Vietnam Institute of Mathematics. Later, he finished his Ph.D. in 2019 at Sorbonne Paris Nord University under the supervision of  Pr. Hatem Zaag to study Singularity formation in finite time for nonsymmetric or nonvariational partial differential equations. Then, he received a two years postdoc position at New York Abu Dhabi University under Dr. Tej-Eddine Ghoul. Now, he is a lecturer at An Giang University. The main interests focus on blowup phenomena for PDEs and fluid dynamics.

2. Đinh Nho Hào (Institute of Mathematics, VAST, VN)

3. Lê Thị Thu Thuỷ (University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA).

Le Thi Thu Thuy is a doctoral candidate at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Ms. Le graduated from National Economics University, Vietnam, in 2012 with a major in Mathematical
Finance. After graduating, she worked as a lecturer at the Division of Mathematics, Banking Academy, Hanoi. In 2015, Ms. Le was awarded the Vietnamese Government Full Scholarship –
Project 599 for Training Young Leaders, which supports her in studying for a master’s degree in Mathematical Finance at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from 2016 to 2018. In Fall
2019, she started studying for a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her current work focuses on the inverse problems for partial differential equations and numerical methods. Ms. Le’s significant achievements include several Carleman – based globally convergent numerical methods to solve a list of nonlinear inverse problems and compute viscosity solutions to a general class of Hamilton-Jacobi equations.

4. Nguyễn Trung Thành (Rowan University, USA).

Dr. Thanh Nguyen (Nguyễn Trung Thành) received a BS and an MS in Mathematics from Vietnam National University, Hanoi in 2002 and 2003 respectively, and a PhD in Engineering Sciences (Engineering Mathematics) from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) in 2007. After completing his PhD, Dr. Nguyen has worked for several institutions as postdoctoral research associates or research scientists (Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Radon Institute of Austrian Academy of Sciences, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Iowa State University before he joined Rowan University in 2017 as a tenure-tracked Assistant Professor of Applied Mathematics.

 

Dr. Nguyen’s research includes computational inverse problems for partial differential equations, numerical analysis, optimization, and machine learning. He worked not only on mathematical and computational aspects of these topics, but also on their real-world applications. Some of the projects Dr. Nguyen had worked on are: 1) detection of buried objects using infrared cameras and radar; (2) detection of objects through the wall using radar; (3) detection and imaging of cancers using microwave; (4) detection of water pollution; (5) material characterization using electromagnetic induction data (5) detection and counting of blueberries. Dr. Nguyen has published more than 40 papers in mathematical and engineering journals and conferences.

 

5. Nguyễn Hoàng Lộc (University of North Carolina - Charlotte, USA).

Loc Nguyen is currently an Associate Professor of Mathematics at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Professor Nguyen obtained his bachelor in Mathematics at University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 2001. He did his Ph.D. at University of Utah in 2006-2011. Professor Nguyen's research focuses on the area of Inverse Problems for Partial Differential Equations. Targets applications of Inverse Problems he is studying include bio-medical imaging (to detect cancerous tumors inside living tissues), seismic exploration (to find oil under the sea to save significant resources for oil companies), nondestructive testing (to check if there are some cracks inside a product), nano-imaging (to image cells with tiny size), security (to identify anti-personnel explosive devices buried under the ground to save lives). One of Professor Nguyen's important contributions to the field is to develop numerical methods that provide reliable solutions to nonlinear inverse problems without requesting a good initial guess. 

6. Phan Văn Tuộc (University of Tennessee - Knoxville, USA)

Tuoc Phan obtained his Bachelor of Science degree majoring in mathematics from the University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City (VN) in 2000. He started his graduate study at the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA) in 2002 and obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2007. Dr. Phan was a postdoc at the University of British Columbia (British Columbia, Canada) from 2007- 2010, and University of Tennessee (USA) from 2010 - 2012.  Dr. Phan joined the Department of Mathematics at the University of Tennessee as an assistant professor in 2012 and became an associate professor at this institution in 2018. Dr. Phan's research interests lie in the analysis theory of partial differential equations. His study establishes the existence, uniqueness, and regularity estimates of solutions. He also works on nonlinear dynamics of solutions, and optimal control problems in mathematical biology

7. Trần Vĩnh Hưng (University of Wisconsin Madison, USA)

Hung Tran was born in Hai Duong, Vietnam. He did his undergraduate study at the honor program in mathematics, University of Science, VNU at Ho Chi Minh city from 2002 to 2006. He then went to the US to do his PhD in mathematics at University of California Berkeley in Fall 2008 and got his PhD in 2012. After spending 3 years as a Dickson instructor at University of Chicago, he moved to University of Wisconsin Madison in Fall 2015 and he is currently an Associate Professor there. Hung Tran works on nonlinear partial differential equations. Recently, he received a Vilas Faculty Early-Career Investigator Award (2022-2025), a Simons Fellowship for his sabbatical (2021-2022), a NSF CAREER award (2019-2024), and Honored Instructor awards from UW Madison University Housing.
