JVN-VIASM Joint Public Lecture: “Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)” by Prof. Duong Nguyen Vu, Dr. Giap Van Duong (Giapschool), Nguyen Ngoc Tuan (VIASM) has taken place at VIASM Lecture Hall C2 this afternoon, August 31, 2013.

The rapid development of technology has changed education models as well as education strategies of education institutions. Massive open online courses (MOOCs) initiated from the development of open educational resources and soon become popular with the involvement of prestigious universities in USA (e.g. Stanford, Princeton, Yale, Michigan vv.). MOOCs have also expanded to Europe and Asia.

John von Neumann Institute (VNU HCMC) and VIASM would like to introduce the development of MOOCs, as well as discussing the opportunities and challenges of Vietnam education institutions concerning MOOCs. In his presentation, Dr. Giap Van Duong has also introduced a model of Vietnamese MOOC at giapschool.org.

The participants includes students, researchers who are interested in new technology in/for education.
