On April 15, 2018, the International Conference on Combinatorics, Graph Theory and Applications opened at the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM). The conference is organized by the VIASM, the Hanoi University of Science and Technology and the Institute of Mathematics - VAST. With 6 invited talks and 20 talks from scientists, PhD students and more than 60 participants from France, Germany, USA, and from local universities and institutes, the conference aims to create an ocasion for scientists and young researchers to exchange new research results, new directions in discrete mathematics. Invited talks and ordinary talks also show these trends, from classical graph theory to multidisciplinary relationships and real applications. Two invited talk will present the classic problems of graph theory, explore the intrinsic structure of graphs; two invited talks show the deep connection between combinatorics, graphs and other mathematical disciplines such as algebra and geometry; and two invited talk discuss the large-scale graphs, link streams and networking problems in real time.
The first session of the conference began with two invited talks given by GS. Prof. Ha Ha (Yale University) and Prof. Ingo Schiermeyer (TU Freiberg University). The conference will continue until the end of April 17th.
