Mini-course “Some topics on Graph Theory” has opened on Wednesday June 18, 2014. The course is given by Prof. Moshe Rosenfeld (University of Washington, USA) which is an activity of the research group Discrete Mathematics. Five two-hour lectures will be given every two days until June 27, 2014.
Prof. Moshe Rosenfeld.
The first lecture, which is about prisms over graphs, attracts 20 participants.
Assoc. Prof. Phan Thi Ha Duong, head of the research group Discrete Mathematics who are working at VIASM, told the Institute: Prof. Rosenfeld is a Graph Theorist who has a long time teaching and doing research in Vietnam (in cooperation with Hanoi University of Sciences – VNU Hanoi and Institute of Mathematics – VAST). He has also been advisor of some Vietnamese students who achieved certain results in the field. In his lectures, Prof. Rosenfeld always try to clarify all the issues, as well as giving open questions. By doing this, he really inspires his students to do research in the field.
Some other participants also suggest the Institute to organize more courses on Graph Theory as well as on other related topics to Discrete Mathematics.
