CALL-FOR-APPLICATION-2026-AIMP_page-0001.jpgI. General information

1.1. Collaborative workshop group (CW Group)

  • Each group comprises 2-7 members, including a Principal Investigator (PI) and group members who are researchers in mathematics or related fields. Priority is given to groups with the majority of members not coming from Hanoi area, female researchers or those from underrepresented regions.
  • The CW Group should have geographical diversity (not all researchers come from the same place), from Vietnam and/or abroad, and may include graduate or Ph.D. students.
  • Group members should not be part of other research groups selected to work at VIASM in 2025.

1.2. Duration of stay

  • The duration of stay ranges from 3 to 5 days. All members are required to work full-time at VIASM during this period.
  • The group may schedule its visit at any time in a year. However, we encourage avoiding the peak summer period from June 15-August 15).

1.3. Research topic: All topics in Applied and Industrial Mathematics are eligible.

1.4. Organization format: The program follows style of a “study group” in the form of a specialized mini-school, where members deliver a talk on topics related to the school’s theme. Attendees can include group members or external participants, attending either in person or online.

1.5. Funding

  • The VIASM will provide accommodation, office space, domestic travel, and lecture honorarium (if applicable).
  • Support for graduate and PhD. Students without presentation are available.
  • The VIASM encourages applicants to seek supplementary external funding for travel and accommodation

1.6. Final report after the visit

  • After the research stay, each group must provide a brief report (up to 5 pages, excluding references) summarizing the results obtained. The report is expected to be done within one (1) week after the group’s stay.
  • Explicit acknowledgment of VIASM support for any work completed fully or in part during the visit is mandatory.

II. Application documents

  • Research proposal: A proposal should be written in English and should not exceed 5 pages (excluding references). The content must include the school’s topic, rationale, collaboration details between all members (including prior research history), proposed presenters and title of talks, primary and secondary MSC 2020 codes, and keywords.

Note: The proposal name should specify “Application for AIMP Program.”

  • Curriculum vitae of the Principal Investigator and group members must be updated on the VIASM Research Management System (VIASM RMS).

III. How to apply

  • Applications must be submitted online at the VIASM Research Management System: https://portal.viasm.edu.vn/. (Please read the VIASM RMS user guide here).
  • First, the Principal Investigator sets up an account (if they are a new user), creates a new proposal, and invites other researchers to join their research collaboration group. After receiving an invitation email, group members sign up/sign in to the system and proceed to submit the required information.

Note: Please provide at least two options for the proposed work period (start and end dates).
