The first NTU-VIASM Workshop on Discrete Mathematics

The first NTU – VIASM Workshop on Descrete Mathematics has opened on December 27, 2014. This is the first joint workshop organized by Nanyang Tecnological University (NTU, Singapore) and VIASM and this will last until December 30, 2014. The workshop is also sponsored by Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST).

The workshop is bringing together and providing a platform for the researchers of NTU and Vietnam in all aspects of Discrete Mathematics and related areas. The program is composed of three keynote of experts in Cryptography and Graph theory. Other contributed talks from Singaporian and Vietnamese researchers will focus on new trends and developments in the domain of Discrete Mathematics, such as: code, enumerative combinatorics, graph theory, algebraic combinatorics, algorithms, discrete optimization, modeling and simulation.

There are 3 keynote speakers at the Workshop. They are three experts in Graph Theory and Cryptology:

- Phong Quang Nguyen – Inria, France and Tsinghua University, China
- Moshe Rosenfeld – University of Washington/Tacoma, USA
- Hoeteck Wee – École Normale Supérieure, France

The purpose is to promote the mutual relation between NTU and VIASM and to eventually create collaborations between Singaporian and Vietnamese researchers. At the Opening Ceremony of the Workshop, NTU and VIASM have signed the Memorandum of Understanding about academic exchange between the two institutions.
