The workshop Partial Differential Equations and Applications took place at VIASM on October 4, 2017. The aim of this workshop was to create a forum for Vietnamese experts in PDEs to exchange new ideas and results. There was a special session of the Workshop devoted to Professor Nguyen Manh Hung’s 60th birthday.
There were 06 invited talks of Vietnamese mathematicians in PDEs, including Prof. Dr. Sc. Dinh Nho Hao (Institute of Mathematics), Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thao (Hanoi University of Science and Technology), Assoc. Dr. Cung The Anh (Hanoi National University of Education), Dr. Ngo Quoc Anh (University of Science, VNU Hanoi), Dr. Phan Quoc Hung (Duy Tan University) and Dr. Vu Trong Luong (Tay Bac University). There was also the celebration of Professor Nguyen Manh Hung’s 60th birthday in the afternoon session. Professor Nguyen Manh Hung has played an important role in training as well as developing of the PDEs research groups at Department of Mathematics, Hanoi National University of Education who have good results on PDEs in the last few years.
The Workshop attracted more than 60 participants, including experts, young PhDs, and PhD students coming from the Institute of Mathematics and many universities in Vietnam.
