In principles, visitors to Vietnam should obtain a visa prior to their travel (no later than four weeks) unless they are bearing a nationality which has visa exemption agreements with Vietnam. List of those nationalities (with details information and restriction) could be found here.
In order to attend the conference, participants usually apply for a business visa to Vietnam.
For business visa, there are two possibilities: Obtain a visa at a Vietnamese Embassy/Consulate in your country or an on-arrival visa (that is, visa will be issued at the entry airport in Vietnam, but beware of the long waiting line at the airport). Please follow the following steps:
STEP 1
Option 1: Please fill all required information in the page "Visa Request" while you register for participation in the AMC-2020.
Option 2:
Step 1a: Fill all required information (you and your accompanying persons) in a Visa Request form.
Step 1b: Send filled Visa Request form with the Subject “AMC2020-VisaRequest_your name” to the email amc2020@viasm.edu.vn”. To avoid any typos in filling the form, it would help if you could scan and send us the most important pages of your passport (and the passports of accompanying persons) with your personal information.
STEP 2
After getting your visa application form (either by email or from your registration), we will apply for a Vietnam Approval Letter at the Immigration Department. It is expected to get it within 15 working days. Once the Approval Letter is issued, we will send you a scanned copy of it via email (please make sure that your email address is written correctly!).
STEP 3
Please make sure to include the Approval Letter in the visa application package to apply at Vietnamese Embassy/consulate or to Immigration Officer at the Vietnam International airport.
Notes:
- Using business visa, you and your accompanying persons can travel before and/or after the AMC-2020
- An Approval Letter is confirmed by Vietnam Immigration Department. At the airport, the corresponding authority will verify the details in the approval letter (shown that you are allowed to receive at the airport), based on your passport and travel documents. You will surely be granted entry upon arrival in Vietnam with the approval letter.
