Viet Anh Nguyen is currently the Head of the Machine Learning and Deep Learning group at VinAI Research, Vietnam. Previously, he was a postdoctoral scholar at the Department of Management Science and Engineering, Stanford University. He holds a B.Eng and a M.Eng from the National Universityof Singapore, a French engineering diploma (Diplome d’Ingenieur) from Ecole Centrale Paris, and a Ph.D. from Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne. He is interested in very large-scale decision making under uncertainty, statistical optimization and machine learning with applications in autonomous systems, operations management, and data/policy analytics.

I am a third year PhD student at Stanford University, advised by Nima Anari and Moses Charikar. I previously obtained my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and in Mathematics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where I was fortunate to do research with Virginia Vassilevska Williams and Vinod Vaikuntanathan. My current research interest is about geometry of polynomials and its algorithmic applications, especially in sampling/counting problems.

Chi D. Nguyen received the B.Eng. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Le Quy Don Technical University, Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2012, and the M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Information Telecommunication Engineering from Soongsil University, Seoul, South Korea, in 2015 and 2017, respectively. From 2017 to 2019, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore. From 2019 to 2021, he was a Lecturer/Researcher with Phenikaa University. Currently, he is a Director of the IT Program with the FPT University, Hanoi, Vietnam. He was the first and major author of one best paper and two outstanding papers from the 2020 International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications and the Asia-Pacific Magnetic Recording Conference in 2016 and 2018. He is also the principal inventor of four patents issued by South Korea so far. He is currently the principal investigator (PI) of a 2year NAFOSTED project on “Modulation codes and signal detection methods for the next-generation ultra-high-density information storage systems,” awarded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam in 2019. His main research interests include signal processing and coding for information storage systems, applying learning algorithms to channel detection and decoding, and digital transmission engineering for telecommunication systems.

I am currently working on my PhD thesis under the direction of Omar Fawzi in the team MC2 at LIP (ENS de Lyon). My research is on some topics in computational complexity theory, additive combinatorics, quantum information theory. Namely, I am mainly interested in the asymptotic spectrum of tensor, Shannon capacity of hypergraphs, and quantum/classical capacity of quantum channels.

Dau Son Hoang received the B.S. degree in applied mathematics and informatics from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2006, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mathematical sciences from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2009 and 2012, respectively.He is currently a lecturer in Computer Science at School of Computing Technology, STEM College, RMIT University. His research interests include coding theory, discrete mathematics, and their applications in blockchain. He is currently leading an ARC DECRA project on "Advanced coding techniques for fast failure recovery in storage systems".

Hung Le is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Before coming to Umass, he was a postdoc at the Computer Science Department, University of Victoria, and the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences. he received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Oregon State University. 

His research interests include graphs algorithms, metric embeddings, and distributed computing. His major contributions are efficient approximation algorithms for the Traveling Salesperson Problem and the theory of graph spanners.

Nguyen Ngoc Khanh is a fourth-year PhD student at IBM Research Europe - Zurich and ETH Zurich, Switzerland, supervised by Dr Vadim Lyubashevsky and Prof. Dennis Hofheinz.

He is currently working on efficient lattice-based zero-knowledge proofs with applications to privacy-preserving cryptographic primitives. He presented his work at variousinternational cryptography conferences, e.g. CRYPTO, ACM CCS or ASIACRYPT. He is also interested in algebra, algorithms and number theory.

Previously, Khanh obtained his B.Sc. and M.Eng. degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Bristol, UK. During his undergraduate studies, he gained experiencein conducting research by doing summer research internships at University of Bristol, UK (2016) and at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany (2017).

Lan V. Truong (Trương Vĩnh Lân in Vietnamese) was born in Quang Binh province, Vietnam. He received the B.S.E. degree in electronics and telecommunications from the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2003, and the M.S.E. degree from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA, in 2011, and the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore, in 2018. He was an Operation and Maintenance Engineer with MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation, Hanoi, for several years. He spent one year as a Research Assistant with the NSF Center for Science of Information and the Department of Computer Science, Purdue University, in 2012. From 2013 to 2015, he was an Academic Lecturer with the Department of Information Technology Specialization, Hanoi, Vietnam. From 2018 to 2019, he was a Research Fellow with the Department of Computer Science, School of Computing, NUS. Since 2020, he has been a Research Associate with the Signal Processing and Communications Lab, Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. His research interests include information theory, machine learning, and communications. 

I am an Assistant Professor of computer science at Arizona State University. My research interests are in the area of cryptography and security, with a specific focus on secure computation and its applications such as private set intersection, secure bio-computing, and privacy-preserving machine learning. I received my Ph.D. degree from Oregon State University. Before joining ASU, I was a postdoctoral researcher at UC Berkeley.

Nguyen Quoc Phong is currently a senior postdoctoral fellow in the Institute of Data Science at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. He obtained the B.Eng. (Hons.) degree in Computer Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from NUS in 2013 and 2018, respectively.  His research areas include Bayesian optimization, active learning, and meta-learning.

After a diploma (equivalent to a MSc) from the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, Italy, Dr. Francesco Sica moved to Canada where received his PhD in number theory from McGill University.

He later took up postdocs positions at NUS and Université catholique de Louvain in Belgium, where he switched his research interests to mathematical cryptology. He was involved in the NESSIE standardisation effort. He published several articles in leading conferences and journals about the implementation of elliptic curve cryptography.

He has worked in several cultures and knows several languages. He is currently a faculty member at Nazarbayev University, a young American-style research university in Kazakhstan.

I am an Assistant Professor in Department of Computer and Information Science at the University of Oregon. My research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Multi-Agent Systems, Game Theory, Machine Learning, Operations Research, and Optimization. My work is motivated by real-world problems, including domains in Public Safety and Security (e.g., urban crime prevention and counterterrorism), Sustainability (e.g., wildlife and fish protection), and Cybersecurity (e.g., stealthy botnet disruption).

Trung Thanh Nguyen is currently Associate Professor at the Phenikaa University in Hanoi, Vietnam. He holds a PhD from the Heinrich Heine University of Düsseldorf (2013), and a MSc. from the Institute for Mathematics, Hanoi  (2007). He spent time as postdoc researcher at the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (2014-2015), and the New York University (2016). His research interests focus on  computation complexity and approximation algorithms for hard problems in combinatorial optimization and their application.

I am a researcher at Institute of Cryptography Science and Technology.I received my Ph.D degree in Mathematics from the University of Limoges, France and M.S in Mathematics and B.S degree in Applied Mathematics and Informatics from VNU Hanoi University of Science.

My research interests are in some aspects of cryptography. My work focuses on advanced encryption schemes including Public-key encryption, Broadcast Encryption, Traitor Tracing, Functional Encryption, and Privacy-Preserving Cryptosystems.

Tuan Thanh Nguyen received the B.Sc. degree (First Class Honours) and the Ph.D. degree in mathematics from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2014 and 2019, respectively. He is currently a Research Fellow at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), with the Advanced Coding and Signal Processing (ACSP) Lab of SUTD. He was a research fellow in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, from Aug 2018 to Sep 2019. His research interest lies in the interplay between combinatorics and computer science/engineering, particularly including combinatorics and coding theory. His research project concentrates on error correction codes and constrained codes for communication systems and data storage systems, particularly including codes for DNA-based data storage. 

Dao Duc Tu received his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2017. Currently, he continues to pursue his PhD in the same department at NTU. His research interests lies in the areas of combinatorial coding theory and DNA sequencing.
