Objective

Coding theory and combinatorics are closely intertwined and are fundamental to communication, data storage and cryptography. The activity consists of (i) a three-day mini-course (December 1–3, 2026) of 12 lectures giving an introduction to coding theory and combinatorics — linear codes and classical bounds, algebraic codes, combinatorial structures in coding theory (perfect codes, designs, q-analogs and subspace codes), combinatorial methods for bounds, and codes for modern data storage (flash memories, DNA-based storage, codes in the Levenshtein metric); and (ii) a two-day workshop (December 4–5, 2026) with a keynote lecture, invited research talks, short talks by young researchers and an open-problem session. The aims are to train and attract Vietnamese students and young researchers to the field, to provide a forum for exchanging recent results between Vietnamese and international researchers, and to foster research collaboration.
