There will be 8 lecturers, each will have a 90-minute lecture:

Phan Minh Hùng, University of Massachusetts, USA 

Short bio:Dr. Hung Phan is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Massachusetts Lowell (USA). Before joining UMass Lowell, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia Kelowna (Canada) and the University of Victoria (Canada) and a Lecturer at Can Tho University. Dr. Phan obtained his PhD degree in Mathematics from Wayne State University (USA) and his BS degree in Mathematics from Can Tho University (Viet Nam). His research interests are in Variational Analysis, Mathematical Optimization, and Operations Research.

Dương Thị Kim Huyền, Phenikaa University, Vietnam 

Short bio: Duong Thi Kim Huyen is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science, PHENIKAA University in Hanoi. She is a member of ORLab, the research laboratory focused on Operations Research. Dr. Huyen earned both her Ph.D. and M.Sc. from the Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, receiving her Ph.D. in 2020. Her main research interests include Set-valued Analysis, Variational Analysis, Optimization Theory, and Game Theory. She is also very interested in studying problems related to risk management and computer science.

Felipe Lara, Universidad de Tarapacá, Chile 


Short Bio: Felipe Lara is an assistant professor at the Institute for Advanced Studies of the University of Tarapacá, in Arica, Chile. He obtained his PhD. degree at the University of Concepción, Chile, and then he had three postdoctoral positions at the University of Tarapacá (with R. López) in Chile, at Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics IMPA (with A. Iusem) and at Getulio Vargas Foundation, both in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has written more than 30 papers and his research focuses on nonconvex and nonsmooth optimization, asymptotic and variational analysis as well as first order algorithms, mostly on generalized convexity and generalized monotonicity.

Đào Ngọc Minh, RMIT University, Australia 


Short bio: Minh N. Dao is currently a Senior Lecturer with RMIT University, Australia. Prior to this, he was a Lecturer with Hanoi National University of Education, Vietnam, a Postdoctoral Fellow with The University of British Columbia, Canada, a Research Associate with The University of Newcastle and The University of New South Wales, Australia, and a Lecturer with Federation University Australia. His research interests include optimization, convex analysis, and variational analysis, with a focus on the development, analysis, and implementation of optimization algorithms.
He has been serving as an Associate Editor for Springer's journal of Set-Valued and Variational Analysis. In 2017, he received the Annual Best Paper Award from the Journal of Global Optimization.

Trần Văn Nghị, Hanoi Pedagogical University 2, Vietnam 


Short bio: Tran Van Nghi is a lecturer at Department of Mathematics, Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 in Vietnam. He is a former MA student at Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. Dr. Nghi received his PhD from Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 in 2017. His main research interests include: Polynomial Optimization, Variational Inequality, and Variational Analysis.

Nguyễn Năng Thiều, Institute of Mathematics, VAST 


Short bio: Nguyen Nang Thieu is a researcher in the Department of Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing at the Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. He earned his PhD from the University of Limoges, France, in 2022. His research interests include optimization, optimal control, nonsmooth analysis, and dynamical systems. Currently, Dr. Thieu's research focuses on sweeping processes, a class of measure differential inclusions, generalized concepts of convex analysis, and algorithms for solving optimization and optimal control problems. Nguyễn Văn Tuyên, Hanoi Pedagogical University 2, Vietnam 


Short bio: Nguyen Van Tuyen is the Vice Dean of the Department of Mathematics at Hanoi Pedagogical University 2. He received PhD from Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 in 2016 and was a postdoc at Research Center for Nonlinear Analysis and Optimization, Kaohsiung Medical University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan for the academic year 2017-2018. His main research interests include Multi-objective Optimization; Nonsmooth Analysis and Optimization; Calculus of Variations and Optimal Control.

Nguyễn Đông Yên, Institute of Mathematics, VAST 


Short bio: Nguyen Dong Yen graduated from Belorussian State University, Minsk, Belarus, in 1981. He obtained his Ph.D. degree at the Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science (1988), and his Habilitation Doctor Degree in Mathematics at the University of Lodz, Poland (1999). His research fields include Optimization Theory, Set-Valued and Variational Analysis, Equilibrium Problems, Numerical Analysis, and Scientific Computing. He obtained the Ta Quang Buu Prize in 2015. He successfully supervised 19 Ph.D. students, 28 Master's students, and 6 University students.
