Spring School on recent advances in bioinformatics and statistical genetics

Thời gian: 08:00:06/03/2025 đến 17:00:07/03/2025

Địa điểm: Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM), Hanoi

Objective:

Bioinformatics and statistical genetics, as branches of applied mathematics, are essential for advancing our understanding of biological systems and for developing applications in healthcare and biotechnology. Various mathematical models and algorithms, such as maximum likelihood, Bayesian inference, regression models, prediction models, machine learning techniques, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), etc. have been extensively developed and utilized in these fields. The rapid evolution of nowadays technologies allows producing enormous volumes of complex data, highly challenging the tasks of data processing and analysis. This requires the new development, adaptation, and improvement of these mathematical models and algorithms to efficiently address the issue. This scientific activity aims to facilitate the exchange of recent findings and the discussion of future research directions in bioinformatics and statistical genetics. It will cover both development of methodologies and their applications including, but not limited to, molecular biology and human diseases.
