CLIMATE The climate in Quy Nhơn during June can be summarized as very hot and reasonably dry. June is in the summer in Quy Nhơn and is typically the 3rd warmest month of the year. Daytime maximum temperatures average around a warm 33°C (92°F), whilst at night 25°C (76°F) is normal.

CURRENCY AND BANKING FACILITIES

Vietnamese currency is called Vietnamese Dong, often abbreviated as VND. The denominations of paper notes include 500,000; 200,000; 100,000; 50,000; 20,000; 10,000; 5,000 and 2,000 Dong. At the time of publication of this announcement the exchange rate was US$1 is equal to 23,300 Dong. Cash (foreign currency) can be exchanged upon arrival at the international airports in Hanoi/ Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Banks exchange money and travelers cheques. Banking hours are typically Mondays through Fridays, 9am to 5pm.

Plan to bring a number of payment options on your Vietnamese trip for peace of mind. Credit cards are good for bigger purchases, and you can earn travel rewards, but cash is what you’ll need the most. Major credit cards can be accepted at most hotels, tourist shops and some department stores. You notify your bank of your international travel, and the potential legitimate use of your card abroad, prior to leaving your home country.

SIMCARD/ROAMING We recommend the local Viettel mobile network for most travelers. Viettel has the largest network and most customers, closely followed by Vinaphone. you’ll need to go to an official store to register properly. The SIM card by itself cost 50,000 VND (~$2.20), with no credit loaded. There are several package options: the MiMax70 package that provided 3GB of 4G/LTE data valid for 30 days for 70,000 VND ($3); up to 15GB for 200,000 VND (~$9).

AIRPORT TRANSFER

AIRPORT PICK-UP

Free shuttle buses will be arranged on June 9 to take participants from Phu Cat Airport to Seagull Hotel. The schedule of the shuttle buses is updated at

A volunteer will wait outside the exit gate holding a sign “VNUS 2019”. Please follow his/her instruction to get to the shuttle bus. It is also reasonable to take a taxi from Phu Cat airport to your hotel. Phu Cat Airport is situated in Cat Tan commune, Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh province, about 35 km far from the northwest of Quy Nhon city center. Taxi is possibly the fastest and the most convenient mean of transportation and the price is approximately US$12 for a 4-seat car.

AIRPORT DROP-OFF

Free shuttle bus services will be arranged to take participants to Quy Nhon Phu Cat Airport on June 13 and June 14. Information about shuttle bus schedule will be posted on the information board of the conference.

Participants may also take a taxi to the airport. The journey is about 1 hours long, and cost approximately 250.000 VND - 300.000 VNĐ (approximately US$12 for a 4-seat car).

1. Forum Mathematics for Industry

The forum will take place at the University of Quy Nhon - QNU (which is located near Hai Au Hotel) from 16:30 until 18:30 on June 11. All participants are warmly invited!

Buses from ICISE to QNU for participants who wish to attend the Forum leave ICISE at 16:00.
